1. Always learn something new, there are many different techniques that you can use when learning to play the guitar. Try and change them as often as possible as that will help you learn to play the guitar faster.
2. If you hear a song you like on TV or over the radio, don’t look for the tabs right away. Try and figure it out by ear. You will be wrong many times, but you will learn from those mistakes and that will help improve your musical ear.
3. Practice consistently. Try practicing each day for at least one hour. When you reach a treshold, have a few days break. You will see how well you will perform after a few days without thinking about your guitar.
4. Practice at a steady pace. When learning a new technique or a new song, go about it very slowly. Make sure your fingering and strumming is correct. When you figured out the song and can play it right, increase the tempo.
5. Always check out guitar related web sites. You can learn to play guitar easy by simply reading what other people did when they started learning the guitar. If you find a web site that has relevant content, bookmark it. Odds are you might not find another anytime soon as the Internet is full of bad sites.
You wont see how easy it is to learn the guitar until you actually tried it. That’s how I got addicted to them, I tried on a guitar and strum it once and I got addicted.
