guitar method, “Playing Through The Blues” – A Guide For The Lead Guitar Player.
I think you agree with me that learning the blues can be quite a frustrating task. It looks so simple, but just a handful of people seem to know the tricks to really making it sound great.
Blues Guitar, is not about playing fast or really involved. You can play very easy and simple licks and sound incredibly tasty. Listen to BB King and I am sure you’ll agree with me. That guy can give you the goose bumps with just a couple of notes…
Griff Hamlin and his team have created a step-by-step method that has been tested and proven on his own guitar students over the past several years.
The main book provides all of the scales, techniques, theory, and tricks that you’ll need to play The blues. It follows a simple and logical progression. Each chapter builds on the one before it. At the end of each chapter, you’ll be told exactly what you need to be able to do before moving on to the next chapter. You can’t fail with this.
What I really like in the course, however, is the audio examples and “jam
tracks”. Every audio example comes with a full speed and slow speed version, so you can work at your own pace until you get completely comfortable with playing with a real blues band.
There’s also 4 complete burning solos that really sound like they are from your favorite blues songs. You memorize them and totally use them at your next blues jam or gig. They apply all of the techniques shown throughout the course , and give a “real world” example of what a tasty blues solo should sound like.
As if this wasn’t enough, the course includes six jam tracks, so as you get better and better,you can just play
along with the band. And the tracks sound like , you’re jamming with a real band.It’s a lot of fun.
As a bonus,Griff has included a collection of “turnaround” and ending licks. Some of them are pretty straight forward blues, but a couple of them are real head-turners.
As you can tell, I’m really impressed with this course as a whole. The testimonials on Griff’s site prove that I’m not alone. This is a very well designed, tested, and put together system.
