I know that to learn classical guitar online doesn’t sound very… classical, but nowadays it’s a solution for many amateur guitarists that don’t have the time for guitar classes or can’t afford working with a guitar instructor. Besides that, learning from the coziness of your home sounds indeed, very appealing, but even if this instrument is easy, every beginner guitar player must exercise for hundreds of hours to advance and eventually become a top classical guitarist.
What can a beginner guitarist do to improve their performance and style? Here are a few answers.
Firstly, don’t ever ever start a classical guitar exercise without re-tuning your guitar. Don’t get lazy when it comes to this because if you oftenly practice with an untuned guitar, it’s possible to augment certain mistakes that you omitted to detect in your style instead of perfecting your technique. As a beginner, especially if you learn classical guitar online without a teacher, start with the standard tuning of your instrument, which is: 1-e’,2-b,3-g,4-d,5-A,6-E.
It’s also good to know that most of the classical professional guitar musicians rarely use a pick to hit the strings. They usually leave their finger nails to grow longer and reinforce them with colourless nail polish. This usually helps improving your picking performance and sound better especially on faster songs. This only stands for the nails of your picking hand. Long nails will give you a hard time at fretting, so clip off the your nails from your fretting hand. Also, please don’t use black fingernail polish, unless you are a punk rocker. Classical guitar and black nails just don’t go together.
Don’t adjust your fretting fingers’ position too much unless necessary. This way you will play more fluently. Also don’t lift the fingers completely off the strings too unless you really have to. If you can keep at least one finger in a certain position without needing to move it more than a millimeter or to, then do that.
After practicing on easy chords and easy songs, built on just 2-3 chords, it’s indicated to start on legato exercises to improve your dexterity. Even if it’s hard at first to connect the notes smoothly, start slowly and the speed will come in time, as well. Also, widen your chords repertoire every day, this helps a lot.
As I started to learn classical guitar online, what really helped me a lot to improve my classical guitar skills was a great guitar learning program that a friend recommended. I has everything from beginner lessons, videos, chords and tabs, to advanced guitar exercises.

The learning of guitar chords is quite a significant part of studying this instrument, mostly because a chord or a combination of chords forms the the main structure of a song. Learning chords takes you to an advanced level of guitar knowledge. Knowing a large amount of chords helps any guitar musician to analyse better a song they hear, an exercise or a certain piece, and implicitly, to make their own song instead of playing other musicians songs all the time. Nowadays, everyone can learn guitar chords online to widen their repertoire, but of course, you need to master the easy ones first.
So, here are 3, most common chords, easy to play on guitar and practice with, especially if you learn guitar chords online.
C Major Chord
Put your 3rd finger on the 3rd fret of the fifth string, your 2nd finger on the 2nd fret of the 4th string. Lastly, set the 1st finger on the 1st fret of the 2nd string. While playing the chord, do not hit the 6th string. Pay attention to your pick and strum only the bottom 5 strings. Make sure all the notes come out clearly, without buzzing. Voila! You have a simple C Major chord.
G Major Chord
For this G chord, set your 2nd finger on the 3rd fret of the 6th string, your index on the ring finger fret of the 1st string. Next, take your 3rd finger and put it on the 3rd fret of the 1st string. Pay attention not to press down any other strings then the ones you must, and have good, yet relaxed grip. Using a pick, strum all six strings in a flowing movement. You will obtain a nice multi-note which is the sound of this G chord.
E Major Chord
Place your 2nd finger on the 2nd fret of the 5th string, 3rd finger on the 2nd fret of the 4th string, and finally, your index finger on the 1st fret of the 3rd string. Hit all the strings, and hear your E chord.
Now, as a general idea, if you are learning chords, don’t press the strings to hard, because this will usually bring on a sharp pain in your fretting fingers after a while, if you don’t have a trained hand. However, hold the fret of your guitar and the strings tight enough to produce the right notes.
I usually learn guitar chords online, at least 2-3 each day, and practice with other four or five I’ve learned to to remember them all the time. No matter what others say, that you really need a tutor or to attend classes, Internet can be a good guitar teacher if you are eager to learn.
Searching the Internet for new things to practice on my guitar I came across many interesting sites which helped me a lot. Here’s a good Guitar Learning Program that I’m sure will help anyone who desires to learn guitar chords online.
I’m pretty sure that when you first laid your hands on an electric guitar, you found yourself day dreaming of playing like Jimmy Page, Brian May or Kirk Hammett at least a few times. Although that seemed unachievable, but it’s pretty much doable. Even if your idols seem to play their electric guitars so naturally and fluently, that doesn’t mean it’s pure talent. They are talented for sure, but there’s a lot of work behind their flawless style and guitar skills. Many of them have taken classes, but there are too, genius guitarists, that have built their careers without too much professional help, from screeching and buzzing up to the electric sounds of perfection. Luckily, today there’s the web, so everyone can polish their electric guitar skills online, without academic help.
However, as I said, there’s a lot of musical information to assimilate before becoming a good electric guitarist. But as you walk the path of the electric guitar, there are many ways to augment your progress. So, here are three steps that you might consider following, if you crave to become good with your electric guitar.
1. Make a custom out of playing famous electric guitar pieces. There are many easy electric guitar riffs good to practice with as a beginner. A few examples you can find in “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Slash, “Panama” by Van Halen or “Run to You” by Brian Adams. But it’s most indicated to learn and practice on your favorite riffs or songs. However, don’t get stuck just on a few bits or songs, just because you play them well and you like the way you sound as you perform. Always move on an learn new songs or riffs, and this way you’ll improve.
2. Practice on fast licks and riffs. Even if this is difficult at first, and even if you suck badly at the beginning, it’s good for practice for your speed and stamina. Anyway, don’t just play a fast lick or riff because it’s fast, try to perfect it until you play it properly, otherwise you will end up just screeching something that can only make your neighbours mad. Also, learn to shred properly, and practice with hammer ons and pull offs.
3. Practice building music on chords. Even if the learning of chords might sound like boring theory, chords are as important as the bricks in a wall. Without knowing chords, you won’t be able to play something original, just to get stuck with repeating something that other electric guitarists have composed. So, learn at least a few new chords every week and apply them in exercises, trying to build on them. If you learn electric guitar online, without a guitar tutor, you will stumble upon a multitude of chords to exercise with.
These are just a few tips on how to improve your electric guitar progress. However, if they are not enough, I can only recommend an electric guitar guide , the one I’ve been working with. This program rocks and it will surely help anyone that wants to learn electric guitar online .
These days, anyone can study tabs for guitar on the Internet, without a teacher because it’s not exactly rocket science. However, not many guitar beginners spend too much time learning tabs, and they pass directly to learning songs, which is quite a minus, especially if you want to become good at playing guitar. Reading the tab of a song, you can easily detect a mistake that you are making, analyze and actually see a certain piece. Also, if you like to compose, you can always write down bits that come to you, which can become the next greatest hit after a little polish.
What exactly is a guitar tab?
Tabs are a way of writing music for guitar but instead of using the standard musical notation, it uses numbers. That’s why if you learn guitar tabs online it’s very easy to copy/paste your songs, or to write them yourself.
Tablature will point out what notes must be played, which string to hit and which fret to fret it at. Tabs also describe the hammer-ons and pull-off, bends, slides, harmonics and vibrato. Tabs specify the tuning of a certain piece and the use of capos. If there’s no specification in this direction, then you should take it as a standard tuning.
Tabs don’t present the rhythm of a song or a certain piece, but will indicate the long and short notes. However, you will have to use your ear to determine the right rhythm and length of the notes.
What exactly a guitar tab won’t let you know?
As I said, guitar tabs don’t specify the lengths of the notes to be played. Tabs also don’t tell you what fingers should be used to fret each note. You will have to figure that out by yourself, working on your guitar and discover which finger is more comfortable on which fret. Strumming and picking is another aspect that tabs don’t show, so you must decide where the upstrokes and downstrokes are.
Now, as I learn guitar tabs online like many others, I constantly increase my database of easy tabs and easy songs I find on the Internet, to practice with. Of course, I’m not talking here about the “Mary Had a Little Lamb” tabs, but the ones for well-known songs, played by famous artists. So, if you’re looking for easy tabs like me, here are the ones you might want to dig up: Brian Adams – “Summer of ‘69″, The Animals – “House of the Rising Sun”, Jewel – “Who Will Have Your Soul”, Counting Crows – “Mr. Jones”, Deep Purple – “Smoke on the Water”.
I have to admit though, that even if I study classical guitar and acoustic guitar without a music instructor, and also learn guitar tabs online, I still help myself with an excellent online guitar learning program.
I strongly recommend this Guitar Learning Program to everyone that wants to learn guitar tabs online as well as all the other aspects of this beautiful instrument, because it simply rocks. Check it out!

3. Discover your own flaws and attack them directly, trying to correct yourself. Only if that doesn’t work out, ask for advice.
4. Exercise on various guitars. This doesn’t mean you have to buy them, just ask friends to let them use theirs . You just might realize that you sound better on a different guitar.
5. No matter if you’re standing or sitting as you work on your guitar, always try to keep a straight, yet relaxed position. This will surely improve your performance and reduce the stress on your wrists, arms and back.
6. Always practice on new songs, even if the idea of playing the songs you’re good at might be very attractive. Working on new bits and exercises, you will continuously improve.
7. Train your ear. No matter if you are born with an exceptional musical ear, you still need training in this direction. A well trained musical ear will enable you to quickly analyze a song and you will even visualize it on your fret, which helps a lot.
8. Have at least an hour of guitar practice every day. This isn’t even close to be too much. Experienced guitarists practice to up to 8 hours a day or more
9. Practice with a metronome. This will considerably improve your rhythm sense and also your performance. Even if you don’t have a metronome at some point, you can always tap your foot too keep up the tempo. If you learn how to play the guitar online, you can surely find an online metronome.
10. Widen your chord repertoire by learning a new chord every day. Also, practice with several chords everyday to keep them fresh in your memory.

Guitar or basically any other instrument can be learned online, without taking any classes, if you know where to look and how to start. Very few know how to learn guitar online and what directions to take for studying this instrument though. So, I’m going to outline here, a few steps to take by anyone that wants to learn guitar exclusively online, without a teacher.
1. They say that an image is worth a thousand words. And we can say that a video is made of a thousand pictures. Can you imagine the teaching power of a video? So, what you need to do is to watch as many guitar related videos as you can and like, observe the pros at work and see how they play. Also there are many videos made by guitar pros that usually share a lot of tips and tricks, very helpful to anyone that wants to know how to learn guitar online.
2. Learn guitar exercises and drills for every aspect of this instrument. You can do this by watching videos, as I said, or find online lessons that offer a wide range of guitar exercises. It is more important though, to make your own exercises, at least after advancing a little with your guitar practice. Also, since you are not working with a music instructor to point out your mistakes it’s important to identify them and correct them yourself. This will also make you a more confident guitar player.
3. Regardless what you do, get a metronome. If you are too lazy to go to a music store, I’m pretty sure you will find an online metronome to work with. Even if it sounds too academic, a metronome will augment your rhythm sense and also your performance. In lack of a metronome, tap your foot, it helps.
4. There are also online guitar mentorship programs. So, if you really don’t know how to learn guitar online, find an online mentor, or simply become member of a guitar oriented forum. Don’t be ashamed to ask for advice with your practice and don’t be ashamed of your guitar skill level even if that particular forum community seems to be made of guitar professionals.
5. Last but not least, exercise on songs. There are easy songs to begin with, and I’m not talking here about the “Mary Had a Little Lamb” kind of stuff. Important to know here, regardless of the rhythm and the speed of the song, always start slow and only after you have become able to play that song good enough, take it to its normal speed. Eventually, you will be able to learn and play the songs your idols, the songs that you’ve always wanted to play.
Following these steps you can only improve, if you don’t know how to learn guitar online.
However, if these steps aren’t helpful enough, here’s a complete Guitar Online Learning Program, with plenty of exercises and lessons, built by a professional guitarist, for anyone that wants to know how to learn guitar online.
I’m pretty sure that everyone studying a blues guitar have pictured themselves playing and maybe singing like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Johnson or whoever their idols are, but to reach that level of skill, there’s a lot of work, especially if you learn blues guitar online, by yourself, and even if talent is your middle name. So, if you don’t work with a blues guitar tutor to kick you back into shape when you’re buzzing or screeching, it’s important to learn to discover the mistakes you make to correct them.
Therefore, I’m going to point out here, a few beginner mistakes to be corrected when playing a blues guitar, but first, it’s important to know a few things about the blues.
Blues was born as a vocal form, long time ago in African-American communities in the United States, mostly like work field working chants. They were originally made of a vocal line repeated 4 times, and evolved into mixing that line with other, more complex lines. Nowadays, blues that started as a singing art form, now kinda require a guitar to accompany your voice with. But even if your voice isn’t that great and needs to be polished, you need far more guitar practice to become good at this.
Now, here are the mistakes you must try to avoid if you learn blues guitar online:
1. If practicing on blues songs, try to minimize the moving of your fingers on the frets as much as possible. It takes time to rearrange fingers, and the less you do it, the smoother and natural your notes will be. A typical newbie error is to lift all the fingers off the fretboard and relocate each finger. Of course, sometimes that is necessary, but if you can hold a finger where it is, do that.
2. Avoid keeping your fretting hand too tense. This way you may injure your fretting hand and also put a bad influence on your performance . Be as relaxed as possible. The blues itself is meant to generate a good, relaxed state of mind, starting with the player, not just for the audience. Besides, if you learn blues guitar online, from the comfort of your home, it won’t be too hard to chilland adopt a good posture for playing blues, as well.
3. Another mistake to watch for is to avoid playing the same interval all the time. Good guitar players always mix and match for effect, breaking the pattern into interesting pieces, showing their skills at the same time. Of course, this takes practice, but will help you improve.
4. When improvising on a certain piece, don’t supplement your progression with too many notes. Blues is sophisticated through its simplicity. Its simple layers must sound together like a very complex piece, that has depth and peaks interest.
These are just a few usual mistakes that any amateur blues player can make while studying blues on guitar. However, to diagnose better your practice, if you learn blues guitar online, it’s best help yourself with an online guitar guide.
The one I’ve been using has really helped me a lot, and I strongly recommend it to anyone that wants to learn blues guitar online. Check this Guitar Guide out, it really rocks!
I’ve always wanted to learn to play guitar easy, skipping the theory, all the tabs and chords, skipping classes and practicing on my own, but my teacher said that I risk to develop and perfect a wrong guitar technique and suck at it completely. Of course, my guitar instructor is an old timer, he is still living in the past, considering that the only way to learn any instrument is by attending guitar classes. As I wanted to prove that he was wrong, I started to browse the Internet for every guide or program to learn to play guitar easy, by making my own exercises.
After finding exactly the guide I needed to learn to play guitar easy, I decided not to go to classes for a while then show up and exhibit my new skills to see what he has to say. But before telling you all about this great guitar guide that helped me play a few quite advanced solos in just a few weeks, I’m going to point out some guitar tips.
It’s important to learn at least one chord everyday, and also practice with as many chords as you can that fit to your skills and style. Create your own exercises and identify the flaws of your guitar technique, in order to correct them and to progress. Always be relaxed as you play, trying to minimize the tension in your arms, wrists, hands, fingers and body because this will improve your performance.
Another trick to learn to play guitar easy is to find a few easy, yet good songs to play. There are many songs which have a few simple chords at the base, for example, Eric Clapton – “Tears in Heaven”, John Denver – “Country Roads”, Counting Crows – “Mr. Jones” or The Eagles – “Tequila Sunrise”. Study the chords in the simple songs you find, then simply watch the artists playing, on youtube. However, don’t get too comfortable just with the songs that you like, always learn new ones, to improve yourself.
If you get too frustrated because the sounds you want just don’t come out, relax, improvise and have fun with it. One of the goals of music is to entertain people. Fake the song you want to play, but do it without buzzing or without playing out of tune. Even if you fake a song, make it sound good
The guitar guide that I’ve been speaking about at the beginning of this article, had all the information I needed to know about guitar, from A to Z, from beginner to pro. It focuses on practicing, without too much boring theory, showing all the tricks you need to Learn to Play Guitar Easy, having many videos, audios and also software programs to help your progress.
As I said, I was able to perform perfectly a few quite difficult pieces, just after a few weeks of studying with this Guitar Learning Program. [spin]When I showed up at classes and presented my teacher what I’ve learned, he asked whom I’ve been studying with. I couldn’t convince him that I did it with an online guide, but I don’t really care.
Many guitar learners want to learn to play guitar songs as quickly as possible, as they’ve always had a at least few favourite songs in mind that they weren’t able to play. But theory is not to be neglected either, because without it, very few will become good guitarists. I’m pretty sure that any of the beginner guitarists have tried at least one or two times to reproduce the songs they’ve always desired, but when they see that are far away from playing it like the artist himself, they get very disappointed and some even quit.
To learn to play guitar songs, it’s best to start with the easiest of them. The simplest guitar songs consist of 2-3 simple chords. The slowest the song, the easiest to play will be. Love songs are a good idea to look into if you want to play guitar songs and you’re still at the first lessons of this instrument. To help all the fellow guitar players learn to play guitar songs, here are a few of the easiest ones.
No Woman No Cry by Bob Marley. As you know, this is one of the most famous songs ever written and played, it’s ideal for a beginner, and your friends and family will love it. This song involves three simple chords, easy to switch in between. The second section requires bar chord strumming, which might be a little challenging for beginners but it’s excellent for practicing bar chords.
Hey Jude by The Beatles. This song was written by Paul McCartney to comfort John Lennon’s son Julian, during his parents’ divorce. Initially, it was called “Hey Jules”, and was released in August, 1986. The song is based on 3 chords: B-flat, F and C. It’s a well-known song that will certainly make an impression once you master it, and the lyrics are also simple and you can sing along.
Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple. This song has one of the most famous guitar riffs of all time. This is one of the riffs that many electric guitar players begin with. This guitar riff is played in the G pentatonic scale and harmonized in fourths. Even if most guitarists don’t use a pick to play this song, it’s indicated that you should use one, especially if you play it on an acoustic. If you are to learn to play guitar songs, especially for electric guitar, this is a good song to begin with.
Smells like Teen Spirit by Nirvana. This is maybe the most known song of Nirvana. It contains a simple guitar solo, very easy to learn by any beginner. This solo can be performed without the pinky finger, but it’s indicated to use it, especially when playing the 8th fret notes when passing from G to D, and from D to A. Also, use the index finger to bend the 8th fret notes, to obtain the characteristic effect of this song.
One By U2. This is also an all-time classic rock song, from the album “Achtung Baby”. It goes a little something like: Am, Dsus2, Fmaj7, G. The strumming pattern for the track is basically straight forward for this song, not very hard to play on guitar, but if you’re going to try to sing it too, you’ll be needing a high voice.
These are just a few songs to begin with if you want to learn to play guitar songs. However, since it’s pretty hard to start playing songs directly, without the knowing at least some of the guitar theory, I recommend the step-by-step Guitar Learning Program that I’ve been working with. In just a few days, without too much of a hassle, you will surely Learn to Play Guitar Songs.
