Learn Rock Guitar

If you want to learn electric guitar, then no doubt you want to do so because of some rock and roll music you have heard. Don’t get confused; you might like alternative, punk, classic rock, metal, or any number of different genres: if it’s got electric guitars in it, it’s some kind of rock. And yes, that applies to country too. The only exceptions are blues and jazz, which are actually the parents of rock and roll.

So, rock music is probably the basis of your desire to learn electric guitar. But, just what kind of rock guitar do you want to play? In this very basic first rock guitar lesson, we will talk about the two different styles.

Rhythm

First of all, there is rhythm guitar. A lot of people are down on rhythm guitar; they think it is the easier of the two styles to learn. However, without playing close attention during a rock guitar lesson you will soon realize just how detrimental bad rhythm playing is to a song.

Most people will learn electric guitar rhythm playing first, because it involves strumming chords. However, it also takes a certain ability to keep the pace of the song intact, something that very few beginning guitar players can do. The rhythm guitar in a band is what will keep every other instrument together.

Rhythm guitar means you are doing one of two things. You’re either playing chords and chord forms in a specific pattern, or you are playing single notes and double stops (double stops are two notes at once, a useful term to know when you want to learn electric guitar!).

Lead

Of course, the idols of the guitar world are those who can put out some killer lead guitar work. Despite the fact that somewhere above 90% of all rock guitar lesson work and all rock guitar in general is rhythm, it’s the lead that gets all the attention.

Leads involve picking out individual notes (or two notes at once) over top of the rhythm in a song. The most important thing you can learn in a rock guitar lesson for lead guitarists is the pentatonic minor scale. This is a five note scale which you can play in virtually any key. There are no notes that will sound wrong, as long as you keep playing in the same key.

Those are two of the most important distinctions you will need to know in your first rock guitar lesson. Once you learn the pentatonic minor scale, you can really start having some fun as you learn electric guitar. Soon enough, you’ll be playing like the instructor on one of the best instructional websites on the web;Learn electric guitar

hi there,

There are a lot of tips and advice out there would you agree? well this is some free advice which I hope you find useful in your Guitar adventure lets begin………

I know how frustrating it can be when you’re learning to play the guitar the best advice I can give is to stick to an easy guitar lesson there are plenty of free easy guitar lessons online today.

So why do you want to play?

what are your motivations?

If you keep these reasons alive and right them down get a book and put some pictures in there and guitar goals then this will help you when the going gets tough and it will!! unless your the next Jimi Hendrix and I’m sure even he struggled at times.

well to start you need a Guitar which one do you have ?

maybe you don’t have one yet don’t rush into buying one.Decide if you are going to play an acoustic guitar or an electric guitar It depends on the style you play If you don’t have one then I would suggest taking time to find one that your comfortable with.Used guitars are great as well, so check your local second hand shops and used dealers just because the guitar is expensive does not mean it is a good guitar.

These are very well-known high quality brands Fender, Taylor, Martin, Ibanez, B.C. Rich, Epiphone, Kramer. So do you play with your left hand or right or maybe you can play both hands most guitar are actually for the right hand.

Jimi Hendrix played a right-handed guitar altered for left-handed playing and you can play a right-handed guitar upside down also.Or you could hold out for a left-handed guitar as well.

    * It may be better to start off learning songs which utilize single notes or power chords. This will help build finger strength, dexterity, and familiarity with the guitar, hopefully with less stress and frustration.

    * The best way to learn any instrument is to learn to play some songs that you love listening to. Learning to play songs that you know and love, is much easier than trying to learn songs, or worse, exercises from a book that you don’t like or aren’t familiar with. As well as knowing how the song should sound, you’ll can also play along with the recording which will help you learn to play the song in a short period of time.

    * Learning to tune your guitar is important an out-of-tune guitar sounds awful. Not only will it keep you from hearing when you play something right, an out-of-tune guitar will quickly discourage you

    * Practice and memorize chords from the start. Chords are the foundation of music you can purchase a chord dictionary.

    * Consider learning to read guitar tablature knowing how to read tab will open doors to reading and writing your own music on guitar

    * Learn to play an easy song there is no question that learning songs is the best way to learn to play guitar, or any instrument for that matter.Learning to play songs teaches you new chords and is a lot more fun than just learning how to play chords on their own.Think about what your favorite songs are and look them up on the internet. If you put the name of just about any song followed by the word ‘tab’ into a search engine, you will usually be able to find several of websites that have that song, the lyrics and guitar tab that you entered.

So how was that Easy Guitar Lesson advice painless wasn’t it:) I know how frustrating it can be when you’re learning to play the guitar but stick with it and remember your motivations and goals the best advice I can give is to stick to an easy guitar lesson there are plenty of easy guitar lessons online today and if you want to know about Jamorama efficient learning system which is easy to understand and follow with simple examples and explanations, then click on the link at the bottom of this article and it will give you more information and I hope it all goes well for you, contact me If you have any questions.

learn electric guitar Learn the Guitar Free:

What to Look for

If you have looked around the site, then you already know that I support efforts to learn electric guitar, in any way possible. I’m not against the idea of an instructor or even the right types of videos and other methods of learning guitar, but I do think that in a world where anyone can learn the guitar free, those methods which you have to pay for had better do a bang up job of teaching you.

That said, maybe we should look at some of the essential elements that should be there when you want to learn electric guitar using any method. Advertisements for materials which will help you learn to play guitar free on the Web can lead you to waste just as much time as any other method. How do you know it’s not a time waster? Look for the following elements.

Structured lesson plans

You’ll want to know you are being introduced to new concepts with each lesson you take. You can’t learn electric guitar all at once, it’s a matter of building up a knowledge base over time. A good site will help you become a better player lesson by lesson.

Theory

I am an absolute supporter of musical theory. Lots of beginning guitar players, and especially those who want to learn electric guitar it seems, are a bit lazy. They want to play Stairway to Heaven right away, and they don’t care what notes they are playing.

Well, it’s easy to learn to play guitar free as long as you don’t care what you are doing. If you’re looking for a more in depth experience, one that will ensure that in time you will be able to play any song no matter how it is written out (not to mention write your own music) look for a lesson package that teaches the theory behind the sound.

Tab

That said, I am also a fan of tab so long as it is combined with theory for those who are attempting to learn electric guitar. Tab allows you to play songs faster than reading music, because it is easy to follow. A good set of lessons which help you learn to play guitar free will have tab combined with theory.

Technical Tips

One thing I absolutely hate about a lot of guitar teaching methods is that they totally leave out technical details in favour of musical ones. Sure, it’s great to learn the basic chords, but what are you supposed to do once a string breaks? Why can’t you replicate that beautiful, full sound you hear on the CD? And just what does a capo do, anyway?

These are all things which should be covered by any instructional guitar method, whether you are looking at a site which helps you learn to play guitar free or are using the services of an instructor. If the method doesn’t contain all of these elements, look for something else, because believe me it is out there at places such as Learn To Play Guitar Free
